With the exception of the occasional portrait, Jason Line has mainly concentrates his work on the still life. He works directly from observation and his approach is often meticulous and exacting in his depiction of form, colour and composition. Many of his paintings are sparse and take on a quality of quiet order. However his recent series of work,’A Crowded Space’ have taken a different direction. The drawings and paintings are complex and crowded, differing objects jostle for position. Although a seemingly chaotic world is created, harmony and balance still prevails.

Jason trained at Camberwell School of Art and Gloucestershire College of Art and Technology. He has exhibited extensively including the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery, the Discerning Eye, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and The New

English Art Club all at the Mall Galleries, London. He has exhibited in a number of galleries in London including John Martin Gallery and The Medici Gallery as well as showing at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea. He has had many solo exhibitions including The Frameworks

Gallery,London and the Troubadour Gallery, London. In 1998 he was awarded The Juliet Gomperts Memorial Award.
