Caroline's work is a modern take on the silhouette cuts first introduced as an art form in the 18th Century. Silhouettes immediately capture the essence of a person in a graphic way. There is an instant connection in recognising a face recreated in the simplest of forms. Photographs are supplied and then graphically redrawn to create contemporary silhouettes. It is an interactive process with clients being able to add text and colour choices if required.
Trained as a graphic designer (University of Brighton), Caroline is particularly interested in illustration, paper and hand drawn type. Caroline has designed for many different companies including Jigsaw, Anya Hindmarch, Chinti and Parker and Laura Lee Jewellery.
Unframed portraits are priced at a minimum of £75 for two portraits and £25 per additional portrait thereafter. Floating frames can be supplied at a cost of £25 by Cavaliero Finn. See examples of colourways below. Antique frames are priced on an individual basis. Caroline's silhoutte portraits make an ideal anniversary or birthday present for close family and friends.
